How to recreate an ETICS SL5 or SL6 image

The ETICS images are a basic installation of SL5 or SL6 plus EPEL repositories.

Detailed steps:

How to recreate an ETICS Debian 6 image

  • 1.- Download and install the Debian 6 image
    • During the installation, uncheck ALL packages. In this way you will get a clean machine with only the minimum set of packages installed
  • 2.- Use the official Debian repository (by default)
  • 3.- Install these packages:
    • python
    • python2.6-dev
    • libssl-dev
    • daemon
    • subversion
    • cvs
    • lsb-release
    • chrpath
    • debhelper
    • rsync
  • 4.- Install the ETICS client: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/ETICS/ClientHowTo

How to download the ETICS images

The ETICS team will provide the HyperV images and a list of tools to convert the images from this format to the most used ones.
