Review of the Software Release Plan

Description

The Review of the Software Release Plan should check that the plan is up to date and that it describes the actual release process.

Frequency

PM6, PM9, PM12, PM15, PM18, PM21, PM24, PM27, PM30, PM33, PM36

Review checklist: follow the checklist below:

  • The list of supported platforms corresponds to the actual set of platforms on which software components are released.
  • Installation of external dependencies is well documented.
  • Instructions to use the supported build systems are up to date.
  • The list of supported delivery software formats is up to date (source and binary packages, tarball, package lists, etc).
  • The description of the process on how to handle changes is up to date.
  • The communication channels are published with updated information about:
  • Mailing lists developers should use for discussion, requests, announcements, etc.
  • Meetings and the purpose of each of them.
  • The process on how to deliver software to the Production Infrastructures is up to date and it’s aligned to what the Production Infrastructures are expecting.
