ALICE Distribution of activities over 2006

Month ALICE Requirements
March 2006 Set up 500 node proof cluster at CERN
April Generate 1M Pb-Pb and 100M p-p events on 7500 KSi2K of cpu, 11% at FZK, 11% at CNAF, 6% at IN2P3, 1% at RAL, 20% at CERN, 51% others (Tier 2's). 240 TB of MC events stored back at CERN at 110 MB/sec average arrival rate. Network/reconstruction stress test: run 9600 jobs/day on 1000 KSi2K of cpu with 30 MB/sec rate from Tier 0. 20% at CNAF, 12% at IN2P3, 17% at FZK, rest at T2 sites.
May
June
July Tier 0 to Tier 1 and Tier 1 to and from Tier 2 tests. The Tier 0 to Tier 1 tests are scheduled to run from 24 July to 6 August and will simulate raw and ESD data transfers and will aggregate to 300 MB/sec distributed according to the MOU mass storage resources: 20% to CNAF, 20% to IN2P3, 20% to Gridka, 10% to SARA, 10% to RAL and 20% to a USA site. The data may be immediately scratched. Repeat April network/reconstruction stress test.
August Continue the July export tests until the 300 MB/s rate has been reached for a sufficient period.
September Continue the July export tests until the 300 MB/s rate has been reached for a sufficient period. Scheduled analysis tests.
October Continue the July export tests until the 300 MB/s rate has been reached for a sufficient period. Scheduled analysis tests.
November Continue the July export tests until the 300 MB/s rate has been reached for a sufficient period. Scheduled analysis tests.
December Continue the July export tests until the 300 MB/s rate has been reached for a sufficient period. Scheduled analysis tests.
