CERN (Tier 0) Overall Resource Requirements Timetable for 2006

See the attached word document of B.Panzer at: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/LCG/CernPlans/ResourceallocationplanningforCERNin2006__v4.doc

CERN (Tier 0) SC4 Resource Requirements Timetable for 2006

April 3rd (Monday) - April 16th (Thursday before Easter) - sustain an average daily rate to each Tier1 at or above the full nominal diskdisk rate below. From Tuesday April 18th - Monday April 24th we should perform the disk-tape tests at the rates in the table below. Any loss of average rate to a site of greater or equal to 10% should be accounted for (e.g. by an explanation/resolution in the operations log) and compensated for by a corresponding increase in rate in the following days.

Site Disk-Disk Disk-Tape
ASGC 100 75
TRIUMF 50 50
BNL 200 75
FNAL 200 75
NDGF 50 50
PIC 60* 60
RAL 150 75
SARA 150 75
IN2P3 200 75
FZK 200 75
CNAF 200 75

  • The nominal rate for PIC is 100MB/s, but will be limited by the WAN until ~November 2006.

From 1 May CERN to the end of September CERN will top up the data rates to all Tier 1 sites to the disk-disk rates as above. From October the proposal is to switch to disk-tape mode at the above disk-tape rates.
