Input Output

On the cards FILI, FILO, FDBA, and HIST file definitions are given. The files containing events can be of either of the formats supported by BOS: EPIO (machine independent, transport format), or NATIVE (machine dependent, faster on VAX). The card format is always the same. Only the first two cards are needed for standard reconstruction.

The cards ADDD and REMD allow to add or remove banks from the output stream.

The card REMI will remove banks from the input file before processing.

• FILI  

  On the FILI cards the input file is described (EDIR are accepted). If several files are to be read in sequence, several FILI cards can be given.

• FILO  

  Card to specify where the POT (Production Output Tape) is to be written. A list of the banks written to the POT-file is printed at the start of job. Banks currently written to POT file :

  Note : The KINE, VERT, KHIS and KVOL banks of a Monte-Carlo raw data file, are converted to FKIN and FVER tabular banks by JULIA if not already done by GALEPH. In addition, KPOL (resp. KZFR) is converted to FPOL (resp. FZFR) to get a coherent scheme[3].

• FDBA  

  Normally JULIA uses the latest version of the ALEPH database. To use an old version instead, or a test version, the FDBA card may be used.

  To use the test version of the data base:

  On IBM: FDBA 'ADBSTEST DAF * | GIME DBASE'

  On VAX: FDBA 'DBASE:ADBSTEST.DAF'

  On UNIX: FDBA '/aleph/dbase/adbstest.daf'

• ADDD 

  Additional banks may be put onto the POT-file using the ADDD 2/ card. Example :

  ADDD 2/ 'PHANTASTIQUE' ! will add the banks PHAN, TAST and IQUE to the POT

• REMD 

  With the REMD card banks can be removed from output:

  REMD 2/ 'FVERFKIN' ! Do not write FKIN and FVER to POT.
