TUBE

&CELL: TUBE

RADIUS

The radius of a circular tube, or the distance between any of the edges and the origin in the case of non-circular tubes.

[No default is provided.]

VOLTAGE

The potential of the tube.

[By default 0\ V.]

EDGES

The number of edges, according to the following table:

Shape EDGES Synonyms
Cylinder 0 CIRCLE, CIRCULAR, CYLINDER, CYLINDRICAL
Triangle 3 TRIANGLE, TRIANGULAR
Square 4 SQUARE
Pentagon 5 PENTAGON, PENTAGONAL
Hexagon 6 HEXAGON, HEXAGONAL
Heptagon 7 HEPTAGON, HEPTAGONAL
Octagon 8 OCTAGON, OCTAGONAL

Polygons with a larger number of edges can be made available on request.

label

Serves to identify the tube to SELECT statements.

A label is not mandatory, but signals induced in the tube are only computed if the tube can be selected, and this can only be done if the tube has a label.

[By default, no label is assigned.]

STRIP

Anticipates read-out of a part of the tube.

Two kinds of sub-divisions are permitted: radial sectors and slices along the z-axis.

strip_min

Indicates the starting point of the strip.

The location should be indicated in degrees for radial sectors and in cm for slices in z.

[Mandatory parameter, no default provided.]

strip_max

Indicates the end point of the strip.

The location should be indicated in degrees for radial sectors and in cm for slices in z.

[Mandatory parameter, no default provided.]

strip_label

A label by which the strip can be referenced in SELECT statements, when computing signals induced in the strip by moving charges.

The label is a single alphabetic upper case character. You may type a longer string, but only the first character will be stored.

A label is not mandatory, but signals induced in a strip are only computed if the strip can be selected, and this can only be done if the strip has a label.

[By default, no label is assigned to a strip.]

gap

Indicates the gap width to be used when computing the weighting field for the strip.

The gap is specified in cm for z-slices and in degrees for \φ-sectors.

[By default, this is taken to be the distance to the central wire, if there is one.]

representations

The tube will be displayed using the TUBE representation.

Strips, if any, are shown with the STRIPS representation.
