What's new

• server:
  • Completing the transition to the new configuration system and improving the script to migrate old configurations.
  • Adding GLUE 2 support.
  • Replacing the pin manager with a faster and more robust implementation.
  • Extending the dcache script.
  • Adding HTTP support to third party srmCopy transfers.
  • Adding proxy certificate and VOMS support to the HTTP/WebDAV door.
  • Reducing file open latency.
  • gPlazma 2 with ARGUS black listing (missing from initial release).

• client:
  • srm
  • Added SRM_JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xms64m -Xmx64m"
  • gridftp client send checksum request only if server supports it
  • fixed java classpath issue in adler32 script
  • include correct log4j jar
  • srm-set-permission sends hyphen for groupID as default value
  • WARNING messages no longer apear when a warnign is not needed.

Deployment notes

• When upgrading from 1.9.5 to EMI-1 (dCache 1.9.12), configuration files need to be modified according to the new configuration system.
• The upgrade to 1.9.12 can be done gradually. All head nodes (including doors) need to be upgraded at the same time, the pools however can be upgraded step by step after the head nodes are processed.
• The complete compatiblity matrix is provide with all dCache release notes. (e.g. 1.9.11 notes)

Known issues

• Up to know, there are no known issues with dCache 1.9.12.
