Preparation of analysis to find and estimate size of damage regions over entire samples
Discussion with Terenuma-san regarding phase 2 tests (tentative target region?)
Need to understand at least points raised in Phase2Preparations beforehands
Consider whether there are further measurements or studies which we need to do this week while we are at ATF/taking data, to allow us to write up the test properly: see first thoughts at DamageTestPaper.
By Wedesday, decide whether we will take our second shift this week on Thurs. 28th or Fri. 29th.
PC to control manipulator during beamtest
IBM laptop from Birmingham (with serial port on media base), and USB over ethernet ("UsbAnyWay").
If large distance (>5m) between laptop and Heason controller, then have to use serial connection. _Not needed, as Mark added some error handling to Labview vi for connection failure. Also, easier than laying more cables. _
Luis tested that can swap between two communication methods trivially.
Need MINT workbench also
Commissioning of mover system at RAL, week starting 4 Feb.at RAL, Luis, Mark and George, Nige
To determine additional jitter in sample holder during transit (during commissioning test at RAL).
Leica MZ-6 stereo microscope with video capture head, and corresponding PCI card/software in PC to measure vibration directly.
Field of view and optics appear sufficient to determine vibration on scale of at least 100um.
Mover system packaging/pro formas for export.
On site inspection of damaged Ti foils
Using laser interferometer in KEK machine shop (resolution ~10nm), c/o Urakawa-san, or SEM. Demonstration for part of sample #2, 21/2/08,
Field of view, and fiducials on sample foils to ensure we know where to look for expected damage. Can foils be inspected while still held in sample holders? _Done (and yes, they can be)_
Flights and accommodation booked
Shift plan to be written
Have option for single pulse operation and continuous operation.
Results of vibration measurement during transit will show whether continuous operation can be used. _ (and it can be)_
Beam jitter, y ~20um, x ~100um, so assume impact sites will be separated in x by at least 500um. _Agreed on 200um in x, ~100um in y_
